How to Geocache

  1. You will need a handheld GPS receiver (GPSr).
  2. All geocaches posted below are numbered and include the zip code they are hidden in. Select a cache link by clicking on it for more details on that geocache.
  3. Create a waypoint for your cache in your GPS using the latitude and longitude coordinates listed.
  4. Bring a small and interesting item for trading.
  5. Once you find the cache, sign the cache’s logbook and include your name, the date and time.
  6. Browse the contents of the cache and select an item for trade. You are not required to make a trade, but if you do take an item, please replace it with another item so there will always be a treasure for the next person to find.
  7. Close the cache securely and return it to the exact location and condition in which you found it.
  8. When you return home, go to www.capttmorgan.com and login to record your find!

Safety and Awareness

Captain T. Morgan is a big advocate for the environment and safety. Here are some good tips:

  1. Please exercise the “cache in, trash out” policy so we can keep our Earth beautiful.
  2. Always tell someone where you are going and use the buddy system… don’t go alone.
  3. Before you head out on your geocache search, it is recommended that you waypoint your parked vehicle so in the event you get lost, you can easily track your way back.
  4. Be mindful of your surroundings. Watch the weather. Always bring water and basic emergency supplies. Last but not least, use common sense.
